Meadow Lakes Health Centre, East Windsor

Meadow Lakes Health Centre was the eleventh location where I played. Upon arriving at the health centre, I immediately saw the beauty within the center: it was a large open place with a library, several activity rooms for the elderly, and the lively atmosphere embedded within it. However, I eventually learned that such things came at a price because the walk to where I performed took five minutes. I met some of the elderly, where some were tired and others were excited to see me perform. I quickly set up and began to play some music!

While I played, I noticed that one of the elderly men was nodding to the beat, which gave me a huge rush of happiness. To top it off, I barely made any mistakes making it my best performance! When it came time for the speech, I accidentally asked them for funds when in my mind, I realized that it wasn't the right thing to say. For a while, I kept thinking, "Why did you ask for donations? This is a Health Centre where they don't have much." I came to terms shortly and realized that mistakes happen to the best of us and all we can do is learn from them.
