Mira Vie At Manalappan , Assisted living facility

Mira Vie At Manalapan was the eighth location where I played. I remember this moment as a key step towards one of the main goals of this campaign: raising funds for cancer research. My dad and I started pretty late to the event and arrived there around 2:10, which was 10 minutes late. Still, the audience was patiently waiting and greeted us happily, exited for me to perform. Before I started playing, one of the owners personally asked if she could take a photo of me to post on Facebook, which I agreed. I started playing and the audience was engaged in the music.

At the end of the performance, I decided to give a more emphatic speech to the audience; I told them how Om's passing left a huge hole in our hearts and these opportunities to perform help to fill it in. Moved by my speech, the owner once again called me over to talk to her. She asked me questions about the fundraiser and praised me for doing such a thing. However, what surprised me the most was that she offered to write a check to the foundation. I thanked her and all I could think about since that day was the fact that I was going to double the amount I raised. Going forward, I was going to ask the owners at the next organization if they could write checks for the fundraiser. If I kept this up, I could raise thousands for the organization.
